An Idaho Agent Whose Second Invoice Matches the First
Reliable registered agent coverage for Idaho entities. Flat $99/year for the office address, same-day scanning of court papers, and reminders before state deadlines.
Before the numbers, a word about who is talking. This page belongs to ID Registered Agent.org, and one of the two products compared below is ours. The ZenBusiness figures are not ours to shade; they sit on that company's published pricing and take about ten seconds to confirm, so confirm them.
Why People Like the ZenBusiness Dashboard
ZenBusiness built one of the tidier control panels in this market, and a page that skipped past that would deserve to be ignored. Formation status, filed documents, and incoming agent mail arrive in a single console that somebody clearly designed on purpose rather than bolted together. If what you want is a small business admin hub with the agent role sitting inside it as one feature among many, that is a reasonable purchase and this page is not going to talk you out of it.
$99 to Start, $199 Every Year After
Bought standalone, with nothing bundled around it, ZenBusiness lists the agent service at $99 plus state fees to open. Every renewal after that is $199 a year. Both figures are posted and neither is a trick. The second one is simply the figure your Idaho company will actually live with, because an entity keeps an agent for the whole of its existence rather than for one promotional year.
The duty itself does not grow when the price does. Somebody at an Idaho street address has to be reachable during business hours to take a summons on your behalf, and that is the same job in year seven as in year one.
Then there is the trailing phrase, "plus state fees," which leaves the opening invoice open ended. Worth knowing what Idaho actually contributes to that: on the agent side, nothing. Recording a change of agent through the state's SOSBiz portal costs $0, and the annual report that carries your agent information forward costs $0 as well. Idaho charges you nothing to appoint, nothing to swap, and nothing to confirm. Whatever the annual number on your card turns out to be, it is a private company's number from end to end.
| Cost | ZenBusiness (standalone) | ID Registered Agent.org |
|---|---|---|
| Opening term | $99 plus state fees | $99 |
| Every renewal | $199 | $99 |
| Five years | $895 plus state fees | $495 |
Four hundred dollars over five years, for a statutory duty that reads identically on both sides of the table.
What the $99 Covers Here
Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.
Order Here- One number at signup and the identical number at each renewal after it. No opening rate, no step-up, no tier waiting above you.
- Anything a process server hands us gets imaged and emailed before that business day ends, with a copy filed in your portal.
- Our Idaho street address printed on the public record in the place your home address would otherwise sit.
- A reminder ahead of your anniversary month, which is the window Idaho gives you for the report.
- One optional add-on at $15 per item, for general business mail you would like imaged as well.
We are not going to call $99 the lowest price in Idaho, because it is not. BetterLegal lists $90 annually, and to our knowledge that is the bottom of this market. What $99 buys is a place in the low band of Idaho pricing with a renewal notice that reads exactly like the first invoice.
How the State Record Stops Naming ZenBusiness
Idaho handles this with one statement that resets the agent line, the registered office line, or the pair of them together. Idaho business forms carry no numbers at all, so there is nothing to hunt for beyond the name. Filed online through SOSBiz, the state's charge is $0. Filed on paper, a $20 manual processing charge attaches, which pays for a person keying it in rather than for the change itself.
Who you can name is set by Idaho Code ยง 30-21-404 and the Secretary of State's own instructions: an individual who lives in Idaho and has turned eighteen, or a company already carried on that office's register. An assumed business name cannot hold the slot. As for the address, Idaho wants a physical street address inside the state, ruling out post office boxes and, by name, commercial personal mail boxes.
Sequence matters more than speed here. The statement names your incoming agent, so the appointment has to exist before the filing does. Enroll with us, put our Idaho address on the statement, submit it, and only cancel the ZenBusiness renewal once the state's record shows the new name. Handled that way your entity is never carried on Idaho's books without an agent, not even for an afternoon. Our Idaho change of agent page walks the form line by line.
