Phone calls reach employees. The company's privacy stance has held steady for years. What keeps it below us is the plainest fact on this page: Idaho asks the identical statutory job of both companies, and Northwest prices that job $26 higher.

3) BetterLegal

BetterLegal posts the lowest figure in the comparison, $90 a year, and still lands third. The problem is what we could not confirm. Our July 2026 review found no reliable statement of how the first year is billed, and this ranking treats a fully verified price as worth more than a partially verified one. Choosing BetterLegal to save nine dollars a year is a rational decision. Read its order screen closely before making it.

4) Rocket Lawyer

Rocket Lawyer prices agent service at $125 a year no matter which membership tier you hold, and our check turned up no introductory markdown, which counts as candor in this category. The reservation concerns the container. Agent service arrives inside a broader legal subscription of templates and attorney consultations, so the value depends entirely on whether you will use the rest of the platform. Owners who need only the appointment end up subsidizing shelves they never open.

5) ZenBusiness

ZenBusiness builds the best software interface in this table and attaches a stepped price to it: $99 plus state fees for a standalone first year, then $199 a year from the first renewal on. Evaluate the service at $199, since renewal is the rate every kept year is billed at. In Idaho the step-up carries an extra weakness, covered below: this state lets you leave an agent for free, so a doubling price has no lock holding it in place.

6) Bizee (formerly Incfile)

Bizee ships its formation packages with agent service included, free for a stretch of three to twelve months based on the package tier, and for someone organizing an Idaho LLC right now that is real money saved. The standalone price afterward is $149 a year, billed from the day the bundle lapses. Mark that day in your own records at purchase, because the warning will not come from Bizee.

7) LegalZoom

LegalZoom's $249 a year is the highest flat rate in the comparison, it auto-renews, and no first-year reduction appeared in our check. The premium buys the most recognized name in consumer legal services, and recognition is worth something to some owners. It changes nothing about the work: the statutory duties in Idaho Code are identical for every service in this table, at every price on it.

8) Swyft Filings

Swyft Filings bills $149 each quarter, which works out to roughly $596 a year, the largest annual total here, with no separate first-year offer found. Our objection is arithmetic presentation rather than service quality. Splitting one large annual cost into four modest charges keeps the true figure out of view unless the customer multiplies, so multiply.

9) Inc Authority

Inc Authority hands out the first year free and declines to print what any later year costs. Our July 2026 sweep of its homepage, FAQ, and premium package pages produced no renewal figure at all; the number evidently waits at checkout or on a sales call. A comparison built on published prices can only rank an unpublished one last. Vendors proud of a renewal rate do not keep it secret.

Idaho Charges Nothing to Change Agents Online

Here is the fact that should sit behind every renewal decision in the table above. Idaho's change filing, the Statement of Change of Registered Agent, Registered Office, or Both, costs $0 when submitted online through the state's SOSBiz portal. The only way to pay anything is to insist on paper, which adds a $20 manual-processing surcharge. There is no form number to hunt down, because the Idaho Secretary of State does not assign numbers to its forms at all.

A renewal increase collects only when leaving is harder than staying. ZenBusiness's climb from $99 to $199 and Bizee's shift from free months to $149 both rely on the customer deciding a switch is too much bother, and Idaho has priced the bother at zero dollars. That discipline applies to every row of the table, ours included. If our service ever slips, the exit we just described is free to use against us.

What Idaho Law Requires of the Agent

Idaho keeps its registered agent rules in Title 30, Chapter 21, Part 4 of the Idaho Code, the state's version of the Model Registered Agents Act. Section 30-21-402 imposes the duty: every covered entity must maintain a registered agent in the state, continuously. Section 30-21-404 governs the designation itself, and the state's form instructions draw the eligibility lines. The agent may be an individual who resides in Idaho or a business entity registered with the Secretary of State. An assumed business name cannot hold the appointment. The address must be a physical street address in Idaho: post office boxes fail, and so do commercial personal mail boxes of the mailbox-store variety. All nine services in this comparison clear those requirements, which is exactly why the decision comes down to price and behavior rather than eligibility.

The $0 Annual Report and the 60-Day Clock

Idaho requires an annual report from every registered entity and charges nothing for it. Filed online through SOSBiz, the report costs $0 and amounts to a verification pass over record data the system has already filled in; the paper alternative exists only in person at the Boise office and adds a $20 manual-processing surcharge. Any vendor selling a paid annual report filing service for Idaho is therefore selling a confirmation the state gives away in about five minutes, and it is fair to hold that against the seller.

The free part is not the whole story. The report is due by the last day of your entity's anniversary month under Idaho Code § 30-21-213, a date that matches no tax season and drifts out of mind easily. Miss it, and administrative dissolution follows roughly 60 days later under § 30-21-602. That is a short runway, and it is the practical reason agent quality matters in a state this inexpensive: the reminder that reaches you early, and the state notice that gets scanned to you on arrival, are what stand between a healthy company and a dissolved one.
